V&A Dundee plans will help make 2015 a truly historic year
Abertay University today welcomed the publication of plans to award a fixed price contract and start the construction phase for the V&A Museum of Design Dundee.
A spokesman for the University said: “The construction of V&A Dundee will shift Dundee’s ambitious Waterfront development plans firmly into top gear.
“The museum project is already demonstrating the potential that exists for genuinely beneficial change for individuals and organisations across the city. We’re looking forward to working with V&A Dundee in the future to provide learning opportunities for our students and to enrich the cultural life of Dundee.
“When the building project starts, it will greatly increase the momentum of Dundee’s transformation not only in physical terms but also in terms of the city’s international reputation and self-confidence.
“V&A Dundee, the winning of UNESCO City of Design status, and the many other exciting new initiatives taking place are combining to make 2015 a truly historic year for Dundee.”
