Abertay University appoints new Head of HR14 October 2013
Abertay University has appointed Eilidh Fraser as its new Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development. Eilidh is currently Deputy Director of HR at the University of Edinburgh. She will take up her new post at Abertay at the end of this year.
Abertay’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Seaton, said: “We are delighted that Eilidh is joining the Abertay community. Eilidh will be responsible for the strategic leadership of our HR function, and will take a lead in our development as an organisation that emphasises excellence and delivers a first-class student experience. This is an absolutely key appointment for us, and as Principal I’m particularly pleased that Eilidh is bringing her skills and experience to Abertay.”
Eilidh graduated with an MA in Economics, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management. After a brief spell working in Jobcentres and the NHS, her career has been in higher education HR. She worked at Teesside University and Heriot-Watt University before moving to the University of Edinburgh in 1999.
In her current role, Eilidh is responsible for leading the delivery of University-wide HR strategy and services for the University of Edinburgh, covering the full range of HR and organisational development.
She chairs the Scottish Athena SWAN Network and is a member of Athena SWAN judging panels. Eilidh is also a Director of the First Scottish Universities Credit Union.
She lives in Edinburgh with her partner and 6 year-old daughter.
