Life on Campus

Having a campus in the heart of the city centre has always been one of Abertay’s greatest assets and we are looking forward to welcoming you. We are planning to have catering and study spaces open in time for the start of term, including access to the Library. Social distancing will of course be in place for your safety, as well as new one-way systems for getting around and additional cleaning and hygiene measures.

Using the Library

The Library will be open from the start of term in September. As with our other campus buildings, there will be some changes to access arrangements, with enhanced hygiene measures to make sure students and staff are kept safe. We will be in touch to fully explain how all of this will work closer to the start of term.

Engage with Sports, Clubs and Societies

Abertay Students’ Association will continue to support a wide range of student societies and campaign across a variety of issues this academic year. To find out how you can get involved you can visit their website or social media channels. The SA is operating within normal working hours and their President and Vice President can be reached at president@abertaysa.com or vp@abertaysa.com.

Registration

Students will be sent details on how to register for their programme online from mid-August. You will need a form of photographic ID to complete this. We will be in touch with you directly with details on how to complete the process.

Freshers’ Week activities

Our academics are working closely with Abertay Students’ Association and our support services on a programme of activity for Orientation and Freshers’ Week. We will keep in touch with all new students on these plans and on what to expect when joining the Abertay community. In addition to welcome talks from the Principal and Deans of School, there will be info sessions led by Programme Leaders, student support advice, settling in and social activities from the Students’ Association and a special showcase of computer games work from our Masters students.

Chat with classmates on Microsoft Teams

All students will have Microsoft Teams groups this year based on your programme. This will help you connect with your peers socially and academically and be a great source of support and advice. All year groups will be included in these programme-level teams, but you will also be placed in year-specific chats streams within these, so you can keep in touch with your immediate classmates.

You can find more information in our FAQs.
