We know that some students may have travel issues or concerns due to the pandemic and our Support Enquiry Zone team are ready to help you work through these. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01382 308833 to get in touch.
International students will be sent details on how to register for their programme online from mid-August. You will need a form of photographic ID to complete this.
Students who hold a Student Visa will be asked to bring their passport, travel vignette and biometric card to the campus in person and will get an appointment to do this closer to the start of term.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Dundee and will have a range of measures in place for your safety when you arrive. Please remember that guidelines in Scotland will be different from other countries, so check the Covid-19 pages on the Scottish Government website for the most up-to-date information, including actions you should take before you travel and forms you will need to fill out.
Before you travel you must submit the Public Health Passenger Locator form and give details of what your address will be in Scotland.
It is important to be aware that you may have to quarantine for 14 days on arriving in Scotland, depending on which country you are coming from. You can check this here. Quarantine means you must travel straight to your student accommodation following your arrival at the airport and stay there for two weeks.
Don't worry if your home country has only recently been added to the Scottish Government's quarantine list and you can't bring forward your flights and accommodation arrangements. You will be able to study at home while you quarantine in Dundee and will have access to online sessions with your tutors. If you need advice, get in touch with the Support Enquiry Zone.
For more details, including arrangements for picking up your keys, please visit the Accommodation section of the FAQs.
During your 14-day quarantine, you can leave your student accommodation to seek medical assistance or buy food or medicines, but this should be a last resort and please try to first arrange for these to be delivered if possible.
There will be plenty of support for you during this time and we will stay in regular contact to make sure you’re managing. If you need to speak to someone during this time you can call 01382 308833 or contact the Support Enquiry Zone via email@example.com.
We understand some students may wish to bring family members to help them settle in, but please be aware that these family members would also be required to quarantine for 14 days in separate accommodation from you, without any contact.
If you do not have any symptoms after 14 days, you can stop self-isolating. You will then need to follow the same rules as others who are living in Scotland.
On arriving in the UK, you will need to arrange your own travel to Dundee. There’s more information on how to find us here, including many travel options and local taxi firm numbers if required. It is important to plan your journey carefully before arriving and, if taking a taxi, pre-book this from the airport to avoid paying a higher fee.
