Our Lyon Street residences have 125 bedrooms, divided into one, two, and three bedroom flats. Spread across two buildings, these former private flats have been converted by Abertay and retain the feel of a private rental, but with the perks of university accommodation. Light, airy bedrooms have been made up as singles, twins or doubles, and all contain storage and study areas.
Standard plus rooms are standard rooms with access to a shared living room area within the flat. Our Standard Plus rooms may be located in a flat with two other Standard rooms or one Twin room.
Just like a standard room, a standard plus room includes:
1 single bed
1 set of drawers
1 desk chair
You will share a small kitchen, shower room with toilet and one separate toilet room with two flatmates. The plan shows the flat with three Standard rooms.

All utility bills eg heating, water, electricity etc.
Lyon Street flats have a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge freezer, a hob and oven, a sink area and plenty of cupboard space for each flatmate. We also provide a microwave, kettle, toaster, pots and pans and trivets (for putting your hot pans on). In some of the larger flats there is also a seating area and table.

Our laundry room is located at number 10 Lyon Street, next to the mail room and caretaker’s office. There are three washing machines and three dryers which are owned and operated by Circuit Laundry. They are coin operated machines and it costs £2.50 for a wash and £1.50 for a dry.
You have to supply your own washing powder.

Lyon Street is the furthest residence from campus, but is still only a short walk away and benefits from free, on-street public parking. It's also very close to Albert Street, which offers shopping and numerous public transport options.
Residents at Lyon Street have exclusive access to a large area of green space located behind one of the buildings. It is a perfect place to chill out, play games, or have barbecues with your flatmates and neighbours.
Lyon Street tends to be a bit more subdued than our other residences, mainly due to flat sizes. However, those living there find a great community spirit, and there is always something going on.
