College and university life – yes it's different

College and university life are different, socially and academically. They're different learning environments.

Learning more independently seems to be the big issue reported by a lot of students making this move from an HN to a degree. Much of your learning on your degree will be very much guided by you, so being aware of this and being prepared can make a huge difference to the experience and make the transition that little bit smoother.

Some other areas that might be different are the style of academic writing and an approach to study that involves critical thinking and referencing.

Bridging Programme

The Bridging Programme has been created especially for students coming from college with advanced standing to help make your transition into University easier and less daunting. The programme runs during the week starting on September 5^th 2011.
