The main purpose of the study was to examine the current implementation of training and development programmes in the Libyan banking sector. To also explore the problems and challenges that these banks face in order to make suggestions that may improve the effectiveness of their training and development programmes. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were applied in this study.

Yasir Yasin Fadol - The Formation Process of Global Strategic Alliances in the Developing Context
The purpose of this study is to examine the assumptions behind strategic alliance evolution and formation in the developing context (taking United Arab Emirates as a case study). It attempts to compare the practice of strategic alliance formation in the developing contexts with the one predominating within the western literature, and to introduce a theoretical framework that may help academics and practitioners to understand and develop successful alliances between companies in developing countries.

To also explore their specifications and the extent of their usage, with a view to identify the main obstacles that hinder their implementation and to suggest solutions that could help HR managers overcome them.

Isokari Ololo - Corporate Parenting and Corporate-level Strategy in Integrated Oil and Gas Industry
The case study is the NNPC with a mandate to carry out deregulatory reforms. The research studies the corporate parenting practices as obtained in NNPC, benchmark such with the worldwide contemporary practices and recommend incorporation of those alien to NNPC and the oil and gas industry.
