With a renewed focus on a comprehensive and varied programme of research, the School of Computing and Engineering Systems aims to influence the way we will live and work. Every member of the academic staff is actively involved in one of our four research themes:
Security is a key driver for all the research work carried out in CES. But not only security - useable security. Anyone can make a secure system, but making a secure system that is useable is a more difficult task. Here in CES we believe that security must be designed in from the start. Our research work includes gaining intelligence from data, ethical hacking to provide protection, biometrics, authentication of systems, and securing the critical energy grid infrastructure.
