CCTgamelab

The Abertay GameLab was opened in September 2008 to provide a modern multi-disciplinary working environment. Its primary function is for the teaching of game technology and game application development students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

GameLab consists of two main teaching areas: an octagonal pod area housing 40 computer stations mainly used for the teaching of 1st year undergraduate students, and an advanced development area housing 50 computer stations used for the high-end game and graphics development.

GameLab is equipped with high specification computers suitable for advanced game development, as well as 40 Playstation Computer Game Development kits.

Audio programming is also undertaken with a number of PCs being equipped with audio development and recording software. A sound recording studio is also available.

To ensure all students are catered for GameLab has integrated meeting rooms, seminar and lecture facilities and a social break-out area for relaxation.
