Coming from college

Welcome!  These pages contain information for those thinking about:

  • starting a college course
  • moving from college to university
  • working with Abertay to develop academic collaborations

Did you know that more than a third of the students at Abertay come to us from college?

We work hard to support you in making this transition, because we understand what it can involve.  The  Student Academic Support team is located in Student Services, where you can ask for advice on a wide range of subjects, from questions about funding to support for students with disabilities.  SAS provide help with all aspects of studying, from getting your referencing right to managing your time more effectively.

In addition, the Abertay College Transition (ACT) Programme has been designed with student input to help you anticipate the differences between HN and degree study, understand the academic culture at Abertay, find out about the opportunities and activities on offer, and meet some of the people who can support and advise you during your studies.  For more information visit the ACT Programme page.

Students from our local partner colleges have dedicated web pages explaining what they can study, how we can support them and who to contact for more information.

We're happy to help applicants from other colleges across the UK, studying towards a qualification (e.g. SWAP/HNC/HND), with the next steps towards gaining an Abertay degree.

Students approach us with a wealth of skills, experience and qualifications so we've also compiled details of alternative entry routes.
