How to Apply The University Certificate in English for Undergraduate Study is a full-time programme for students who need to improve their skills in English before they start their degree studies.

- Study skills in English (listening to lectures, reading and taking notes, writing academic essays)
- English for your subject area - Business, Computing, Science, MBA Studies
- Key concepts in your subject area
The courses run from September - June, and in the second semester you will undertake a module in your degree subject and study alongside other Abertay students.
Note: Admission to a degree course at the University of Abertay Dundee for students on this programme is conditional upon passing the examinations and assessed coursework. Some students may require extra English tuition before they are able to gain admission to the University.
What you study
University Certificate in English for Undergraduate Study
On this course you will improve your English language proficiency both for study and for everyday life as an undergraduate student in a UK Higher Education institution.
Semester 1 - September to January
Language skills for communication, introduction to study skills in English, the specialist language you need for your degree subject.
Semester 2 - February to May
Skills for writing assignments, preparation for examinations, oral presentations, and specialist knowledge to prepare you for your degree subject.
