What our students say
“Before taking the MSc, I had been employed for several years in academic research, financed by government grants and fellowships.  I chose to take the course at Abertay because I wanted a qualification that was recognised by industry and commerce, including The Chartered Institute for Environmental Management (CIWEM).  The course provided me with scientific and technical knowledge and also a good foundation in project design and management.  I now do a lot of consultancy work for fish farms and lecture in sustainable aquaculture at the University of St Andrews.”
Jonathan, Independent Consultant, United Kingdom

“I decided to study for the MSc to improve my chances of obtaining a career in an environmental/science field. I had been out of science for a number of years and in spite of having two good degrees, a BSc and a PhD, I knew it would be difficult to get back in to science. I had been applying to Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) for about a year and not getting even an interview before I decided to do the MSc. Now I am a full-time employee of SEPA.”
Audrey, now working for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency

“Environmental challenges will be very important in the 21st century and I’m sure that the qualification I have gained will allow me to tackle these challenges and make a positive contribution to the world.”
Anupam, now working for The Environment Agency, England

“My dissertation provided an opportunity to carry out investigative work related to my job. The networks I have established through my MSc have opened up new links and opportunities for collaborative work in the future. All in all I enjoyed it immensely”.
Joanne, Process Scientist, Scottish Water
