Industrial Wastewater Management

UCAS Code: Book direct with the University
Duration: 1800-2100 for 5 weeks or block delivery subject to minimum numbers

Intro

The environmental impact of improper management of industrial wastewaters is enormous. As a consequence, the EU has a suit of regulations to ensure safe disposal of industrial wastewaters to the water environment. In fact, no can obtain planning permission in the UK without an effluent management regime approved by the environmental regulatory authorities. Existing industries without proper effluent management scheme have limited timescales to comply with the regulations.

This short course examines the wastewater management issues facing the food and drinks industry in particular and provides information on sources, quantitative and qualitative analysis of wastewater, cost-effective treatment techniques and process selection, and appropriate discharge routes/options for wastewater. 'Best practices' for dealing with wastewater production and minimisation will also be covered, with Case-Studies. This course is REHIS accredited.
Cost £200 per person (Minimum number of attendees 10)
