Intro

This module is designed for Senior Healthcare Support Workers within Primary Care to administer the seasonal influenza vaccination under the delegation, direction and supervision of a registered healthcare practitioner.

  • The immune system and response to influenza vaccine
  • Legal requirements for immunisation - delegation, supervision, record keeping
  • Anaphylaxis and adverse events
  • Administration of the influenza vaccine
  • Key principles of storage and handling of vaccines
  • Clinical Assessment


Students studying for this award are required to gain clinical experience with clients.  Following successful completion students are awarded 15 SCOTCAT credits at level 7.
