This course is run over three afternoons or evenings and considers Geotechnical Design Parts 1 (General Rules), 2 (Laboratory testing) and 3 (Field testing). Topics include; significant differences between current design and Eurocode methods; assessing characteristic values of geotechnical parameters; foundation design - drained and undrained; retaining wall analysis/design; The course is designed for practising engineers who perceive the need to become familiar with Eurocode 7 before it is adopted as the standard for designs in the UK. The course tutor is Mr Philip Jenkins.
