Intro

This study day will be of interest as an update day for nurses and GPs currently working in a screening environment.

Early registration is recommended as places are limited to 20 students per course.

Course Venue: Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow

What you study

Topics covered include:
  • Overview of the NHS Screening Programme
  • The role of the laboratory
  • Practical issues for smear takers
  • The management of abnormal smears and colposcopy
  • Sexual health
  • Future developments in Cervical Screening

This one day course provides the opportunity for participants
to:
  • Explore developments in the National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP)
  • Review the processes involved in taking, examining and reporting normal and abnormal cervical smears
  • Discuss the management of women following an abnormal result
