Abertay University’s Dundee Business School has welcomed three new lecturers for the new academic year, bolstering its research and teaching strengths.
Dr Boyka Bratanova, Dr Nazrul Islam and Dr Nikolai Mouraviev are the first new Dundee Business School staff to join since Professor Gavin Reid took over as Head of School in August.
Their specialist interests cover innovation management, public-private partnership governance in transitional economies, and the effects of economic conditions on psychology and behaviour.
Professor Reid said: “We are delighted to welcome these signal talents. They are all research-led educators, but also great communicators, with an understanding of the business world in all its diversity.
“They will help Dundee Business School achieve its current twin goals of internationalisation and change making. They will foster positive change through their teaching and research, and help us reach out to the global economy. “
Dr Bratanova’s research examines the effect of economic conditions on psychology and behaviour, with her investigations finding that large economic inequality makes people anxious, unhappy, more prejudiced towards various groups such as immigrants, and reduces their ability to solve complex problems.
Dr Islam’s research interests include national and sectoral studies of innovation systems focusing on nanotechnology, the management of emerging and disruptive innovations, technology forecasting, research and development collaborations, sustainable energy management, and the development of innovation assessment indicators.
Dr Nikolai Mouraviev teaches strategic management, with research focussing on the effectiveness of corporate boards in public-private partnerships and how partners define, create and sustain values in their organisations.
