Long service 2014

Abertay University has celebrated more than 400 years of combined service from 23 members of staff at an official lunch.

Abertay University employees with over 15 years’ service are traditionally honoured for their commitment to the institution.

The lunch, held in Abertay’s Hannah Maclure Centre, saw Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel Seaton say thank you and congratulations for such dedicated service over many years.

This year, six members of staff with 25 or more years of service received a commemorative certificate, plus five days of additional annual leave and a gift worth £150.

In addition, 17 staff with 15 or more years of service were presented with a commemorative certificate and five days of additional annual leave.

Professor Seaton said: “Abertay University would not be the vibrant and thriving academic community it is today without the contributions of these 23 dedicated members of our staff.

“Each and every one of them has played a significant role in our mission to deliver an exceptional student experience.”
