Students from the University of Abertay Dundee are travelling the world this summer with placements from the Saltire Foundation, Scotland's world-class business leadership programme.
Six Abertay students are working with leading companies including AIA, GlaxoSmithKline and Jabil Circuit in countries including Hong Kong and the USA.
The successful Abertay students are Darren Gordon, Alexander Grant, Lewis McDowall, Lisa McNiven, Daniel Mosca and Kevin Rooney.
The students were supported throughout their application process by Abertay’s Career Development Centre. The opportunities are offered annually to 3rd year students.
Mairi Hole from Abertay’s Career Development Centre said: “Becoming a Saltire Scholar is a major recognition of a student’s achievements and career potential. By taking one of these internships in the UK or around the world students learn first-hand the challenges and requirements of working for major international organisations.
“We’re delighted that six very promising students are currently working for companies like AIA in Hong Kong, GlaxoSmithKline in London and Jabil Circuit in the USA, and we’re expecting great things from them in the future.”
Sandy Kennedy from the Saltire Foundation said: "Scotland has always sent people out into the world to seek opportunities and this wonderful 2013 intake for our Undergraduate Programme is following in a long and proud tradition.
"They have been selected from among the most able, talented and ambitious young people that Scotland has to offer and I am sure that they will do their country and themselves proud as they set out into the international arena, learning new skills and gaining first-class business experience that they can bring back to Scotland."
The Saltire Foundation has smashed its previous records by welcoming 104 students to the 2013 Undergraduate Internship Programme.
The record-beating 2013 programme will help students realise their potential through challenging work experience, an increasing knowledge of the commercial world, gaining a global perspective and enjoying superb networking opportunities.
Internships are sourced in a variety of fields such as engineering, science, marketing, management, finance, arts management, video production, law, business development, tourism and hospitality and international relations.
