Louise Johnstone - BSc Physical Activity and Health, 2015
What does your current job involve?

I am a self-employed Personal Trainer. I have been running my own business, Louise's PT 4 U, for just over 7 years now. I am fortunate to work with some fantastic clients. My day to day work involves motivational interviewing, goal-setting, postural assessments, planning and running campaigns to promote existing services, as well as new programmes.

How important was your Abertay degree in helping you to pursue your career?

It consolidated the practical training I have and this has helped me to be a better trainer for my clients. I have now returned to Abertay to build on my degree and undertake my Masters, hopefully leading me towards the career I would like.

What was you most memorable moment as a student?

My most memorable moments were actually during the extra courses and activities on offer. I thoroughly enjoyed completing The Principals Award as well as taking part in the Abertay Mentoring Programme. Even as a business owner and a mature student, I learned so much about myself, my strengths and weaknesses and had time for reflection.
