Psychometric tests

Employers often use these tests as part of their selection procedure. They measure things like numerical skills, verbal reasoning or abstract thinking. You should prepare for them as you would for any exam.

There are lots of different ways you can do this. Here are some suggestions:


  • Sign up for a practice test session run by your Career Service. A trained examiner will provide feedback on how you performed. Find out here when the next session is available.
  • Consult the resources held in the Career Development Centre and/or talk to a Career Adviser about how best to approach these test.
