The Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) in Scotland, a representative organisation for all university careers services in Scotland, has obtained funding from the Scottish Government in order to deliver a virtual careers fair in China.
The main objective of the event is to support students and graduates who wish to pursue employment opportunities in China by giving them direct contact with graduate employers in China.
What are virtual careers fairs?
Virtual fairs take place on a web-based platform upon which are gathered a number of software tools including a vacancy database, an e-guidance facility, a CV bank and online chat rooms.

When does it take place?
The
fair runs from the 9th to 13th of November. Employer chats
will be offered each day along with e-guidance sessions with careers
advisers.
Why participate in virtual careers fairs?
Participation is free and represents an extremely efficient way of exploring careers options in China and applying for vacancies without the expense of an overseas trip. Additionally, each employer taking part recognises the added value provided by a Scottish education.
Which employers will participate?
There has been a significant interest from employers in China. Large international companies like Atkins, KPMG, Heng An Standard Life, Standard Chartered, Adgen Biotechnology Ltd, Arup, Lehman Brown, Lovells, Neusoft, BRSIA and Tesco Property Ltd have already signed up to take part.
