Guest Lecture by Dr Geoffrey Stewart Morrison (Expert in Forensic Voice Comparison)
Dr Morrison is the Director of the Voice Comparison Laboratory, School of Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications, Universityof New South Wales. In this lecture entitled 'What did Bain really Say? A forensic analysis of the disputed utterance based on data, acoustic analysis, statistical models, calculation of likelihood ratios, and testing of validity', Dr Morrison talks on the infamous David Bain legal case. Bain was convicted of murdering his family, and spent more than a decade in prison before being acquitted at retrial.
The lecture will be held in room 2517 of the University’s Kydd Building on Bell Street and will last for one hour.
