Official letter

1. I need a letter confirming my dates of attendance, programme of study etc for an employer / other institution / council tax purposes – what should I do?

Former students should apply for an Official Letter via the Abertay Online Store - https://onlinestore.abertay.ac.uk/ This type of information cannot be released by telephone, fax or email. An official letter will normally be issued within ten working days. Please note that in busy periods, particularly between June and October, it can take longer and you should ensure that you request such documents in good time. 

2. How long will it take for an official letter to be produced?

Requests relating to: Former students
Normal timescale for production: Ten days
Times of Year when you can expect your request to take longer to process: September/October Reasons:
  • Enrolment and registration
  • Registry staff unavailable for significant periods
