About Abertay

AP(E)L

SCNight01 The AP(E)L system at the University of Abertay is designed to allow students to gain credit for module(s) beyond their entry point. In order to gain credits for modules, students are required to provide evidence of learning in the form of certificates achieved at an educational institution(s) (APL) or experience of learning within a work environment (APEL).

Full-time students should note that an award of APL or APEL credit for modules on the current stage of their programme may affect their full-time fee status, with consequent effects on eligibility for bursaries/public funding, and for overseas (non-EU) students may affect their eligibility for student visas.

If you think you may be eligible to claim credit for module(s), please read all relevant documents below, and if you want to proceed please contact Lynne Bewley, the APL/APEL co-ordinator, on l.bewley@abertay.ac.uk for advice and assistance.
