Vote now!
A great lecturer can be a real inspiration, encouraging you to work hard, take on difficult new challenges, and push yourself to new personal and professional achievements.
To recognise the great work at Abertay, the Student Association is asking you to nominate your best lecturer.
So far around 700 votes have been cast – so be sure to have your say before the nominations close this Friday, 19 March.
The best of the best
The Student-led Teaching Awards are being piloted across eight Scottish universities, and may be extended across the UK. They started at Edinburgh University as a way of highlighting the best practice of lecturers, and helping to give honest, direct feedback to teaching staff.
At Abertay three awards are on offer:
- Outstanding ability to teach
- Providing the best platform for employability
- Creative or innovative teaching
A shortlist of six lecturers will be picked, based on the number of votes cast and – very importantly – the comments students make about their lecturers. So if someone has really inspired you, let us know today.
The awards ceremony
An awards ceremony will be held at 7.30pm on Monday 12 April in the Hideout nightclub in the Abertay Student Centre. All students are warmly encouraged to come along, support your lecturer, and to find out who wins!
The shortlist will be announced next week through the University’s website, portal and Twitter page. And please remember to vote today to help us highlight the very best in teaching at Abertay University.
