The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Rev William Hewitt, paid a visit to the University of Abertay Dundee today (Tuesday 19th January)
The Moderator visited the new facilities at Abertay's Institute for Art, Media and Computer Games - the UK's first centre for excellence in computer games education, where he met with students on the MSc Computer Games Technology and MProf Games Development courses.
Professor Paul Harris, Creative Director of the Institute, then took the Moderator and his party on a tour of the University's White Space facilities, where they learned more about the globally renowned student computer game design competition 'Dare to be Digital' and the games being created by the Dare students.
The tour concluded with a visit to Abertay's Hannah Maclure Centre, which houses a cinema and art gallery, and the Abertay Student Centre.
The Right Rev Hewitt was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Moira Hewitt, representatives from Dundee City Council, University Chaplain and Moderator of the Presbytery of Dundee Rev'd Leslie Barrett, and Rev'd Allan Webster, Workplace Chaplain and Area Organiser for Tayside and North Fife.
