Complaint against Abertay rejected by watchdog

Abertay University has been cleared of a charge of unfairly removing an overseas student from her degree course.

The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman rejected claims from the student that the university failed to follow proper procedures in removing her. The ombudsman found that the student had supplied no evidence to support her allegations.

Although the complaint was not upheld. the University has accepted the ombudsmen's recommendations to consider making records of meetings with failing students if they are likely to be wthdrawn, and to clarify aspects of correspondence with students.
