NEWS RELEASE
1 February 2008
Abertay University Information Specialist Melanie Carnegie is proud of her hometown and she’s decided that Dundee deserves a place on the world’s first global Monopoly game.
Game manufacturers Hasbro have pre-selected 68 cities and voting is now open to decide which 20 will make the final cut.
Nominations for the remaining two wildcard spaces are now open and the top 20 will face the public vote for a place on the global board.
Melanie has voted for Dundee to be included in the special wildcard category. She said: “I was on the computer at home when I came across the Monopoly site and this latest vote for the global version.
“Over one million people voted in the competition to decide which cities would appear on the UK version of the game and Dundee came out on top.
“I’ve voted for Dundee and I’ve asked my friends to do the same. Now I want everyone to do their bit to get Dundee a place on the board. The City of Discovery deserves to go global.”
To nominate Dundee for one of the wildcard places just visit the website at www.hasbro.com/games/kid-games/monopoly/ and cast your vote today.
