Many of the activities which are typically associated with staff and student 'university life' have been funded through the generosity of others. In particular, many universities have benefited from the support of trusts, philanthropists, companies, alumni, or from the university's consultancy and other commercial income.
The University of Abertay Dundee Foundation has been established as a charitable trust (SC028015) to provide an opportunity for those individuals, corporations and trusts who wish to support the mission of the University and contribute to its future development.
The University Foundation receives unrestricted gifts for essential projects throughout the institution, which is disbursed by the Trustees of the University Foundation. A number of specific funds have been created so that individuals wishing to contribute to the Foundation may instruct the Trustees to direct their donation to a specific purpose of their choice, or to apply the donation where the need is greatest.
